Rogue Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,000 miles

My car is unsafe, the brake engages and completely stops the car, so far it has happened in a parking garage numerous times and on a street during the rain, lucky for me no one else was there. I took the car in and the dealership says they cannot recreate the problem so the car is safe. I feel so unsafe in the car - another time when I took it in - they said there had a corporate mechanic look at the car and he found nothing.

I read that the 2018 had the same problem. I am very frustrated that I purchased a car with a safety feature that could get me and someone else killed and Nissan knows the cars have this problem and try to make you think its nothing because they cannot reproduce the problem. The car is faulty and Nissan needs to do something. One of the people said you can turn off that feature. Why would I buy a car with a supposed safety feature and then turn it off. You pay extra for these things. I am so upset and afraid about the way Nissan is handling this known problem.

The alarm in the car goes off and flashes, if there computer check systems cannot pick this up that is a problem too - something is wrong with this car and I am frustrated.

I was on the highway going about 60 when all of the all of a sudden the brakes engaged. I let up on the gas. Then I put my foot back on the gas and it went. It scared 😨 the hell out of me. I hope this never happens to anyone. They need to fix this right away. Someone is going to die. It could have been me.

Rogue S

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

This is the 2nd time that my abs deployed for no reason. I was in a parking garage driving under 5 miles an hour. There was no reason for it to brake. I had it serviced once already -- I was told that Nissan changed their "computer frequency" and that the computer needed to be re-calibrated. This was done, but apparently didn't fix the problem. I feel like shutting the abs off. I don't want to be driving down the interstate and have it brake on me. Definitely doesn't make me feel secure.

Update from May 20, 2019: Took it back in. Nissan was unable to find a problem. They said there was a report of an alarm going off at the time of the incident, but no log that the brakes were deployed. That tells me that something isn't working right. This needs to be fixed.
