Mine happened the same way as many others have complained about - first the cover to the lock on the driver side door came off and then the whole handle just came off. And now I have to climb in through the passenger side until I can get it fixed. Sounds like this should be a recall - I'm seeing the same problem all over the net.

First the piece off plastic came off covering the key hole mechanism, now the whole door handle has come off. I will never buy Nissan again and tell everyone about the piece of junk they are.

Well, the plastic lock piece fell off 6 months ago, now the entire door handle fell off. I can't afford to fix the door handle when the steering wheel problem is much worse and needs repair. I don't have thousands of dollars to throw at this piece of .....car. Never, and I mean NEVER buy a Versa.

My driver's door (left) exterior handle started getting loose about a year ago. Last night, it broke off in my hand while in the supermarket parking lot. The door still opens, but I have to enter through the passenger side door and reach over to the left interior handle to open it. I recommend going to rockauto.com for very reasonable replacement auto parts.

I would like to say that I have owned two Nissan Sentras and now a Nissan Versa. My experience with Nissans is that they are very reliable; I have never been left "stranded" with the Nissan Sentra (stranded once with the Nissan Versa....crack in the engine block). AND the first problem I ALWAYS have with a Nissan is that the accessories always fail me first. The cars run fine, but at certain point in time (usually

140-150,00 miles) accessories start breaking before the engine fails.

First, the drivers side door handle fell off. I was really angry and it was really inconvenient. I have a very smooth commute and there is no excuse for a car of this age to have that happen. It was loose at first and the ln I opened it once and it came off in my hand and I actually fell in the parking lot. This week, the rear hatch is loose. Now, the drivers side you actually pull on but the hatch is really just a button and it gets very little use. It has fallen off yet hut it will soon I am sure. VERY VERY UNHAPPY.
