Around midyear 2012 I noticed that the car was making excessive noise from the under carriage. The car had become louder at the exhaust/muffler system and this was accompanied by some rattling noise. Upon closer examination I noticed that there was excessive rust at the muffler and connecting pipes. There was evidently a leak in the muffler region and a rusted out shield at the catalytic converter. A local mechanic shop replaced the muffler for $425. but the rattling is still there. The car is okay as far as emissions are concerned buy I still live with the occasional rattling which alerts drivers that I am in proximity.

Nissan knows full well that there is an early erosion problem with the Versa's mufflers but rather than recalling and doing right by customers, they keep quiet and push the cost of repairing the faulty muffler to the customers. This was our first and will be our last Nissan purchase, they can learn a few things in customer service from Toyota!

Premature coregent and rust at the weld of the flange that crack and also the bracket that hold the metal shield for the front exhaust. They said that the muffler need to be replace for the price of 300$ CAD + labor and tax. Also the metal bracket is also extra maybe 10$ to 20$ CAD.

Get this! my Millage is only 50,550 km for a 2008 Nissan Versa SL Hatchback.

I’m going to tried to re-weld the crack weld. And I did get someone to buy and install the metal bracket for an unbelievable 3$ CAD. Thursday I will try to get re-weld that weld. If it’s impossible to do it I will look on internet for a better deal.

My wife wants to get ride this car like now. She said it’s a piece of junk. The car is almost new.

What it going to happen when the car is going to get really older. NISSAN KNOW ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS AND THEY DON’T SEE TO HAVE THE GUST TO RECALL THOSE CAR.

THERE ARE MORE PROBLEMS ABOUT THIS CAR SEE OTHER COMPLAINS!!!
