Versa SV

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

We have had a noise in the front end driver's side of our car, 2013 Nissan Versa SV 4 Dr. since we got around 8000 miles on it. We bought the car in Apr. 2013 and we never heard a noise until the following winter when it got really cold. We live on a dirt road and the noise was and is quite noticeable when it is near freezing out and the car is really cold. We drive on our road and it is quite prominent when we hit even a small rough spot in the road. We have taken it to 3 different dealers and we have had them taken it out for a ride and they don't hear anything because they only have paved roads to drive it on. And we continually get the same thing told to us " IF WE CAN"T DUPLICATE THE NOISE WE CAN"Y WORK ON IT".I can't tell you how many times I have heard that. I tell you I could strangle them all. They refuse to even look at it. As long as we drive on paved roads or roads without ruts or bumps we can't hear the noise. But once winter gets here again it will be prominent again. They continue to tell us just drive it and if it breaks down call roadside service. That is easy for them to say. We have just about reached our limit with all of them. We have 35.000 miles on it now and have already had to fix the heat shield for the exhaust and had to just the other day put new brake pads on it. And we have a 36,000 mile warranty along with an extended 36,000 mile warranty and they tell us none of this is covered. IT IS REGULAR CAR WEAR! We have had many cars and in fact the last car we had was a Ford Taurus and never had to put front brakes on it until it had 118,000 miles on it. We don't travel hills or mountains so there is no reason that these brake pads should have had to be replaced this soon. We have come to the conclusion that even though we knew Nissan as Datsun many years ago and the brand was good but now they have started to make CHEAP cars and they in no way stand up the way they did. We thought we were buying a good car when we decided to buy a new car after 40 years but this car is going to turn out to be a money pit. We thought this would be the last car we would have to buy since we are retired. And if they can't finally hear this noise and fix it there is no telling what might happen. We could be going down the highway and something could let go and cause us to be in a serious accident. I would love to hear from any Nissan Versa owners that might have come across any of these problems especially any front end noises that they may have heard and have had fixed. We are looking for any help we can get. We are at our wits end.
