I bought my 2013 Nissan Versa brand new in November of 2012. Within the first year I could feel a difference when coming to a stop. I felt as if the car would turn off, but never did. Every time I took it to the dealership (under warranty) I was told there was no problem found. Once the check engine light finally came on, the answer came down to faulty design in the brake light casing that causes the wires to corrode with the buildup of moisture. The wiring was "cleaned out" and I was sent on my way. Since this happened multiple times while the car was under warranty I prayed and struggled to get the car paid off as quickly as possible since there weren't any recalls or long term solutions available.
Within the last 2 weeks, I've made my last car payment and forked out over $400 to have my local Nissan dealership finally replace the brake lights rather than just have them cleaned out. There has never been a solution presented by the dealership or Nissan Corporate and I've been told to expect a recurring problem should I keep the car.
