Versa S 1.6L

  • Manual transmission
  • 35,500 miles

My son bought his Versa in high school brand new, he has since moved out of state and on his visit the car was making a horrible noise. We assumed the brake shoes were grinding the drums and his father and I bought him all new parts for front and rear. When we pulled off his brake drum the bearings literally fell apart, they were almost completely dry and the snap ring was broken. The car had to be towed to our local dealership to be fixed under warranty. He had just had the front bearings replaced under warranty 2 months prior and the mechanic described his front wheel as "about to fall off" then. Our local service department is amazed that the bearings would be failing on such a new car! The condition of his bearings is so bad he likely would not have made the drive home, very dangerous. NOT what you expect from a car this new.
