X-Trail T30 2.3L 4 cyl

Had a full service at 165,000km, no problems. At 167,000km it began starting roughly intermittently. The engine malfunction indicator light came on so I took the XTrail to the mechanic and had the spark plugs replaced. Two weeks later, the same thing happened so I took it to the mechanic again and had one of the coils replaced. Only a week later the problem became much more noticeable, starting very roughly. It was also using a lot of coolant and the engine cooling fan was revving it's scone off. I took it back to the mechanic and he said it was most likely a blown head gasket, but it could also have a crack in the head. They ran a sealant treatment through it and it has been performing much better. I have not yet had the problem fixed for good.
