Takata recall received air bag recall notice.same time airbag light started flashing on dash. Took to dealer. Charged $124 to diagnose air bag light. Concluded seat belt. Refused to reprogram air bag til seat belt replaced for $500. Wrote to Nissan Consumer Affairs. Called me 4 times to discuss. Final conclusion: Vehicle too old to help me with repair. Driving around with dangerous airbags.Nissan will not fix air bag recall until I pay them to replace the seat belt. Afraid to drive on uneven ground as warned by Nissan in recall notice. Why is airbag light flashing if it is not a warning about airbags" if there is a seatbelt malfunction why is the seatbelt light flashing. Passenger seat belt appears to function fine. Dealer said that seatbelts currently not functioning!!!?" vehicle has less than 50K miles on it. Please refer to attached letter. Removed names from the letter.

Check engine light came on, took my truck to the dealer to have a diagnostic check, was told by the service staff that the transmission was contaminated with coolant that had leaked from the radiator. Upon further research, I discovered that other Nissan makes, models between 2004-2006 had a design flaw which caused the problem in which I now face.. I contacted Nissan for some financial assistance on the repair on my transmission, since it appears that the issues related to my problem are from a flaw in the designs of the vehicle. I was told that because my mileage was over a 100,000 miles and past the warranty, that there wasn't anything that could be done as far assisting me with the repairs. I will never buy another Nissan product again.... it should be also noted that there was a class action lawsuit again Nissan regarding the very problem that I'm faced dealing with...

The airbag deactivator sensor, located inside the passenger side seat of our Nissan Xterra leaked the fluid inside the car. Our first indication of a problem was a burning feeling in the throat, nose and eyes. The coins in the car turned green. We discovered the leak and removed the seat from the car. The local dealership did not know what was in the fluid filled sensor and made no attempt to find out. Our insurance company has been trying for 2 weeks to get an answer from Nissan on this product with no results. The repair shop has never seen this issue and has not been able to find out what is in the sensor bag. The inside of the car has corroded, rusting all metal inside the car. This damage is continuing since the seat was removed destroying all metal inside the car. The car has been deemed a write off by the insurance company. Everyone with exposure to this fluid that created a gas in the car, has had an ongoing throat burning and headaches. We have a contact person at Nissan America but they have not contacted us with any information on the product.
