My two rear windows no longer work and were always falling down. I ended up taping the windows for a while but when that didn't work I opened up the door panel and tied the window in place. Still doesn't work, but at least it doesn't fall anymore.

Plastic clips broke on the cbale mechanism on 2 of my 4 windows. Not able to replace just the clips so I had to replace the whole mechanism and motor. This is a common problem with the Alero and should been a recall issue along with other issues on this vehicle but it appears nobody stands behind there products anymore. Screw the consumer!!! They all take credit but no responsibility. What a joke

There have been multiple problems with the Alero. The body and interior are really nice, very comfortable. But after having the driver's side fixed, the passenger side went out as well. I have also had wheel bearing and brake issues, and now the big annoying problem is the pass-key lock. The security light continually comes on and won't allow me to start the car for about 15 minutes. The mechanic has advised it will be close to $500 for a new ignition. I have only had the car a year, but I see why the previous owner traded it in. Ouch for the pocket book.

Both the front passenger and rear driver side windows had the cheap nylon gears strip out of them. Combined with a switch failure in the driver window, I now have only one working window in the car. At a cost of $150 per window (dealer item only) I can't afford to fix them since there are other more pressing issues with the car that require repair. I'll never own one of these cars again.

ALL FOUR OF MY CAR WINDOWS HAVE BROKEN!!! GM can't make windows to save their life!!! The problem is that GM cars are built to last 10 years. Anything after that is borrowed time. What happens is that the cheap plastic parts that connect the window to the regulator fail after about 10 years. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES BY THE WAY!
