Driver side window regulator failed to go up or down after having just replaced the whole motor/regulator assembly less then 3,000 miles from the last time I replaced it. This time the the same nylon clip that slides up and down the rail broke as well as the nylon window clips that are glued to the window. I had to buy another new window motor/regulator assembly AND had to have new nylon clips glued to the window.

Driver side REAR window regulator failed at the same time the front one failed. The nylon clip that slides up and down the rail broke as well as the nylon window clips that are glued to the window. I had to buy another new window motor/regulator assembly AND had to have new nylon clips glued to the window.

Driver side window became inoperative. Service center diagnosed as "broken pulley". This is the identical problem that occurred less than 10,000 miles ago. Though, this time: a> manually closed window remains closed and b> service center estimates at least $400 to fix. When I pointed out to the agent that this is the THIRD such failure on my Alero, he smiled and pointed out that a recent Buick owner had all 4 window power units replaced recently. Seems like GM is stuck with a heap of shoddy spare parts.
Since my car is no longer under warranty, I'm searching for an honest competent place to get the problem fixed with genuine non-GM parts.

Driver side window kept sliding down, even when manually restored to closed position. Car left vulnerable to thievery. Service center replaced the entire unit under extended warranty.

Left / Rear Window slid open while driving. After manually lifting it closed, it would hold up for a few miles. Service center replaced the unit under warranty.

Pulley in the driver side window broke. It would have cost a lot more if we had not fixed it ourselves.

Drivers side window regulator broke. It was actually the white nylon clips that slide up and down the rail. However it was easy to just replace the whole assembly so thats what I did. took about 45 minutes.
