While driving at 40 mph all electrical components went out. Dashboard lights went blank, and speedometer began winding forward and backwards. Windows began to roll up and down, while the headlights began to blink off and on. Dealer checked the problem but couldn't find the cause.

The problem with the vehicle is that when the throttle position sensor failed instead of slowing or stopping the vehicle it would cause the vehicle to speed up, the best discription I can give is that while driving down the interstate on July 30 I was driving at 65mph when I removed my foot from the accelerator the car accelerated to 70mph and I had to apply the breakes before the car would slow down and when the brakes were released the vehicle would speed backup without any movement of the accelerator peddle, I contacted the factory and made them aware of the problem thay recorded all the information that was given to them and gave me a service number which is 1-21538376 then contacted the dealer that repaired the car and called me back, I asked if anyone would contact me about the problem and let me know if the car was safe or if there was a chance that the new sensor could fail and cause myself or my family to have an accident thay said I would not contacted and if GM looked into this problem thay would not give that information out unless there was a recall on the sensor. If GM looks into this problem which it sounds to me like it will take a few people getting killed before thay will address this issue or let Intrigue owners know that their cars could have a problem that could cause them to loose control of the vehicle while driving and possible have a accident. This response to this serious safety issue from GM in my opinion is not acceptable when my wife and child have to use this vehicle everyday. Will it take my family being in an accident before this issue is taken seriously by GM? while NHTSA is looking into this matter I will be searching for a different vehicle that will not be a GM product.
