Takata recall while driving my lights were dimming while driving on the highway. My car cut off on me twice. The first time it cut off while I was driving and the second time it cut off while I was at a traffic light. Sometime the car won't start. After the third or forth attempt the car will start. My gas pedal is sticking now this just start happening. Sometimes I have a time trying to put the windows down. I have to jiggle with the switch a few times in order for the window on driver side to go down. I had two crank sensors and one cam sensor put on my vehicle. I am still having issues with the vehicle. I had the vehicle thoroughly checked by a mechanic and I was told that it was an electrical issue this is a safety issue.

Takata recall- while the car is in motion it will simply stop, nothing will work. It must be restarted to resume and continue. It may not drive for long though. It does not happen all the time but it seems that this is very dangerous.at times the power will shut off momentarily but the car will continue driving. The lights will dim while driving, also. On one occasion the car would not start until the third crank of the key. This has happened on busy streets with my new 17 year old driver at the wheel. I will be calling a dealer soon. They have to feel some responsibility. I pray no one gets hurt due to this issue.

In the past few years, my 2001 olds Intrigue has been having numerous issues. At first, I thought it may just be my car, but after much research, I'm finding that all of these things are also happening to many others. The first thing that I noticed was the random dimming of my headlights while driving. I have checked my lights, battery cables, and alternator. All are fine. The next issue is that my blinkers sometimes work and sometimes don't. this is very disconcerting and most dangerous when taking my child to and from school, when streets are busy and signals are necessary! thirdly, about 3/4 of the time while stopped, my car idles very high! I assume this may be due to the fact that my traction control, service engine soon, and service vehicle soon lights are all on. All have been checked and I've been told that it's a wiring issue that is common in Intrigues. Last but not least, it has become a rather consistant problem that my car doesn't want to start. Sometimes it starts up just fine, but ususally I have to try 2-4 times. I turn off all electronic components under my control, in my car prior starting, but it doesn't make a difference. As my research has shown this may be due to a faulty igniton switch. Many other GM makes and models have had recalls and complaints on all of these issues, yet nothing has been done for this particular model. Safety should be the number one concern here, but obviously it is not. Why do some cars get recalls and others not, when they have the same problems with the same parts used? it doesn't quite add up. Please GM, take care of your cars and drivers, and make sure that everyone in your hands is safe on the road!! that is afterall, your responsibility!!!!

Driving anywhere day or night at any given speed, radio goes in and out, turn signal work on and off at random moments, headlights will dim for no reason, interior dash lights dim for no reason. Also will occasionally cause car to stall for no reason. Have been pulled over by law enforcement several times and warned about not using turn signals when I did, but car has never worked properly. I inform them of the complaints I have repeatedly made to GM to resolve and have been repeatedly ignored by GM. I usually am let off with warning. There are thousands of complaints online about this very issue and yet nothing has been done to resolve it. It is a safety hazard and eventually will lead to an accident due to GM not taking responsibility for their defects. It also affects exterior lighting. Heated seats button goes in and out with these same problems and air bags do not work at all.

While driving the vehicle approaching a turn, the vehicle goes dead and completely blacks out. The vehicle is operating perfectly prior to all electrical current begin cut from the car, this happens with no warning. It has been diagnosed with a bad electronic ignition switch which is cutting all power to the vehicle. Obviously with out a running engine, the power brakes and steering are gone too. I have to assume since there is no power to the vehicle that the airbags would also not function correctly.

The electrical connection within my turn signals is erratic. One moment the turn signal works, the next moment it doesn't. this makes for a difficult commute. There is a current safety recall pertaining to vehicles made by GM during the time that my vehicle was built but my vehicle isn't covered under the recall, despite the fact that the vehicle is suffering from the same problems as the GM vehicles included in the safety recall. The recall states that there was faulty soddering at fault in the case of the electrical issues. I have attached the url for the recall: www-ODI.NHTSA.dot.gov/cars/problems/defect/results.cfm?action_number=EA02037&searchtype=quicksearch&summary=true thank you

Anti lock brake light came on. Service engine soon light came on. Oil low light came on. Traction control light came on and switch inoperative. Heater/defroster fan switch inoperative. Interior/exterior air switch inoperable. Air bag light came on. It was raining. The next morning when car was started all lights were off and car seemed ok. Mechanic used scanner and found no error codes. On line search indicated that is could be do to ignition switch. Thus, I think the recalls for this switch should be expanded.

The contact owns a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled multiple times intermittently while traveling various speeds. The steering wheel was extremely difficult to handle when attempting to make a left or right turn. The key had to be pushed into the ignition due to the fact that the key was not fully secured into the ignition and was also difficult to insert. The contact had to shake and apply force in order to push the key in the ignition when the vehicle stalled. The service engine sensor light illuminated intermittently on numerous occasions. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop where a mechanic diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.

Since buying it we have had problems with dimming headlights intermittent, turn signals work when they want, brakes that grind and pulsate, vibration from right front side. We have had rotors replaced, tie rods, brake pads, still nothing works the dealer tells me there are no recalls on these items. We also had a problem with the secondary air pump we replaced it not a few weeks later it went out again. We have had no success with this cars problems.

The contact owns a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle continuously stalls and hesitates. In addition, the instrument panel indicators would illuminate at random. The vehicle failed inspection and the crankshaft sensor was replaced, which helped with the stalling and hesitation; however, the check engine indicator was still illuminated. Days after the crankshaft sensor was replaced, the vehicle failed to start. However, all of the instrument panel indicators flashed on and off. After numerous attempts to start the vehicle, he had it jumpstarted. The vehicle was then able to start. While driving home, all of the lighting flashed and the vehicle suddenly shut off. The vehicle lost all electrical power and power steering ability. The contact managed to park the vehicle in a parking lot and had it towed the following day to a repair shop. The vehicle is currently still in the shop. The vehicle has been recalled in Canada and he believes that it should also be recalled in the United States. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 106,000.

Turn signal failure on a daily basis. I drive on a highway 80 miles a day. The turn signals may blink rapidly, normally, or not work at all. This can all occur within a few miles. However, when I took them to a repair shop, they could not duplicate the problem. This has been going on for over a year. I have also had to replace the air pump that pumps air into the emissions system twice, and it is still having problems. The car runs fine, but the engine light is on all the time. I also have the problem with the dimming lights which is caused by the air pump switching on and off.

1. loose dashboard causing passenger seat airbag to rattle and the cover to lift above the dashboard. This could lead to deployment at anytime of the airbag. 2. turning signal fails to blink on exterior lights when engaged, usually about twice a day. This could lead to me getting a ticket or into an accident in which case the airbag would still be an issue. 3. headlights and interior lights flicker and dim at night. 4. the transmission jumps at certain times, usually when the car is just started and instantly put into gear. There has been no action to fix the air bag, lights or transmission. The turning signal, however, I have checked the wiring for burns and other problems but have found none.
