Bonneville LX 4.0L

  • Automatic transmission

When it rains hard, water leaks from somewhere near the driver and passenger front doors and makes the floor wet. Windows are up and I read online that it is some kind of drain system in the door that gets clogged. Strange thing is that it did it for a long time and then stopped. Which is good because I was very concerned about mold or rust. Strange issue.

My husband & I purchased the car used. After our first rain we discovered that there was water in the wheel well. Haven't found out where the water is coming from for certain as the weather has been bad and we don't have a garage to work on it in. Hoping we don't have to change the tire.

I was loading my car after a trip to the store and opened my trunk to find a waterfall coming from under the felt on the trunk lid. Also found water on the rubber of the trunk where the lid shuts and on the inside of the trunk on the floor. It looks like the water is running down the crevice on the top of the car (looks like an engineering design flaw) then it either runs past the little piece of rubber at the base of the rear window and into the trunk or the water is running into the trunk where the fin connects to the trunk lid. My husband and I have yet to research this as we have had either rain, ice or snow and no place to check out the problem. If anyone knows what is causing this I would appreciate your input. I will in turn inform you of anything we discover.

Traced problem so far it looks like water is coming in from the drivers side behind the kick panel left side where you pop the hood there is a wiring harness that goes straight up. If you pull it away from where it sits after washing, there is water pouring in down the harness!!! Please let me know if you got an answer! thanks

I can't find the damn leak. I can see where the water comes into the trunk. But there is overlapping metal brackets where the shock absorber is mounted in the trunk. When I look in the wheel well, it looks to be well sealed in the same area that it leaks inside. Don't know where the water is migrating from.
