G6 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

I bought my Pontiac G6 in 2005. All went well until my battery died. After putting the new battery in, that was when I noticed the error message, it said" CD Changer Error". I called the dealership from where I bought the car. They told me to bring it in and they would fix it for no charge because it was still under warranty.

When I went to pick up my car they said they had to send out the whole unit but it would work as new. I had told them at the dealer that I had CD'S in the unit that were stuck. They were supposed to be mailed to me when they were gotten out of the CD player. Well I never got my CD'S back.

About 2 years went by, had no problems with the car, then my battery went dead and the problem with the CD player happened again. It still isn't fix because I don't have the money to take it to the dealer. It is no longer under warranty. Now for the past 2/3 months it has been making this awful noise. It has to stop on it's own. It starts when I open the doors to get in or out.

Someone,?? ... please help me with a solution. I really did like using my CD player. It was one of the reasons that I got the car.

Freaking A - while I am on my soap box...

Radio! Ate a damn CD (one that I would only listen to on road trips cause I don't want people in traffic to see me jammin' to Madonna from the 80s). Then just stopped working. Before you tell me it was because of Madonna.....

Took it in and was told, "Oh yeaaaaa, all the G6 radios suck and die after about 6 months."

I did get a new radio, but it still likes to eat CDs...even the good artists...

for no reason the whole radio system just stopped working, this car has been nice to look at but a pain in the butt. windshield wipers cost me 70.00 to replace because Pontiac made them so only theirs would fit. my auto start remote did not last for more than a year when we had to replace it at $150. like I said nice to look at, but to expensive to be yard decoration
