The contact owns a 2006 Pontiac G6. While driving at night, both rear tail lights remained illuminated when depressing the brake pedal. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake switch module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred twice. The contact called gilland Chevrolet GMC at (877) 666-7521 (located at 3071 us-231, ozark, al 36360) and was informed to schedule an appointment. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

The contact owns a 2006 Pontiac G6. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 14V252000 (exterior lighting:brake lights), but the repair did not correct the failure. When the brake pedal was depressed, the exterior brake lights failed to illuminate. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer in Wisconsin where it was diagnosed that the brake light switch needed to be replaced, but it was not covered under the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 94,000.
