G6 Sedan V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

SOO I pull into my driveway, put the car in park and think I am crazy because I am rolling backwards. I put my foot on the brake, close the door and look at the shifter. Its in park. OK so I turn the car back on and put in drive and then park again- same thing. I am rolling down my driveway and my car is in park! This happened for an entire day. Take it to get fixed and was told that its the steering ball gear (i think) in the transmission. Warranty company gave the shop a hard time so I took it to the GM/Pontiac dealer up the street from my work today. They look at the car and 'cannot reproduce the problem" of course. Always their story. That there is nothing wrong with the transmission. I told them to look into this part, I get a call back about an hour later and they told me that this model only has one of these balls, other cars have 2. This is what makes it stop. That it is NORMAL for my car to roll back about TWO FEET while in park! WHAT!?!? Apparently it is not out of the ordinary for this car to roll down your driveway! Sounds like a load of BS to me! Be sure not to park near anyone!
