2007 2.4 4-cylinder stutters & goes into safe mode (10mph) with no warning. Check engine light comes on & car begins to lose power. You can remove battery power & reconnect & car drives fine for about 5 minutes then shut down again. I was advised that it maybe the catalytic convertor ($2000 repair). When the check engine light begin to come on 2 months prior, engine codes referred to O2 Sensors. I had both sensors replaced & didn't help with check light.

So it started as a jerking issue when I put my car into drive or reverse. I had the codes ran and came up P0010 which I was told is the camshaft position actuator. I changed both of them (intake and exhaust) but CEL was persistent. I've seen people rant about the same issue with the camshaft position sensors so I'm long to replace them as well. Trying to figure out if they are the same part or if it requires a different one for intake and exhaust. Part numbers would also be helpful to which I cannot find.

G6 Sedan 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission

2007 Sedan 4 cylinder Car runs fantastic at 84K. But Engine Light came on Code check shows P1174, intermittent, which is only like a fuel injector dirty or similar

Code P011 has me concerned. Words were something like Intake Camshaft Timing GM says this means it could be end play on the crankshaft, cylinder head, or at worst a new camshaft. None of that sounds cheap

The car operates perfectly as is. Anyone have experience with Code P011??

the check engine light has been on for a year and at first koons kept telling me it was the fuel cap and replaced it 2 times ...then took back to koons got a diagnostic and it was evaporation canister (code saying large evaporation leak) i feel this is not normal wear and tear an do feel it should be a recall and GM should help pay for it.
