Since there is no longer a Pontiac dealer in town, I took the car to Chevrolet. They say that a cable is frayed and can't be fixed. They are unable to get a new cable for a few days and when they do, it will cost over $300 to install it. This is the 3rd time that I've had the car in for the same issue and the 3rd different diagnosis. This time I can't get the key out at all. The other times I could jiggle it around and eventually get it out.
