G6 GT V6 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 112,000 miles

This has been an excellent car for my teenage daughter. I bought it used with 50,000 miles on it, mileage is great, and no complaints until now.

It is a bit frustrating that I cannot check my transmission fluid levels due to the closed system this engine has on it. I had the transmission replaced at 70,000 and trusted that my mechanic was checking the fluid levels when he was changing the oil while it was on his hoist. There was no evident spot that the leak came from.

For all owners of this engine please make sure and hold their hand if you need to while your oil is getting changed. Ask questions and make sure that the mechanic understands how to check the fluid level in this type of closed system, there is no way in hell I should have to be replacing a transmission on a 2009 vehicle with 110,000 miles on it.

G6 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,340 miles

39000 MILES AND TRANSMISSION GOES OUT. IS THIS GONNA HAPPEN EVERY 39-40000 MILES IF SO GM CAN HAVE THE CAR. BY THE TIME WE REPLACE ALL THE TRANSMISSIONS AND PAY FOR THE CAR WE COULD OWN THE MOST EXPENSIVE CAR IN THE WORLD. DON'T GET ME WRONG I LOVE MY G6 BUT NEVER EXPECTED SOMETHING THIS MAJOR WITH THIS FEW MILES AND TAKE OVER A 12 DAYS TO FIX. I TRADED AN AVEO FOR THIS G6 4DR. NOW I AM STUCK WITH A 4 DR AVEO HATCH WHILE MINE IS IN THE SHOP. IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE ELECTRIC WINDOWS, CD PLAYER OR ONSTAR. IT JUST REALLY SUCKS BIG TIME.
