starts at times, and other times it doesn't

I took the car to one dealership and they said it was one problem. They didn't really pay attention. Then I took it to GM dealership. Their master mechanic can't figure out what's wrong with it. It starts fine at times then once or twice a day it won't start. I'm always left stranded. It takes 30 min sometimes hours before it starts.
