Grand Prix 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 113,000 miles

Well what do ya say if we say the hell with oil and we all get a horse and tie our license plate to his tail...? but then we would have to carry a dang pooper scooper! I learned early on that the best mechanical fixes are the ones that don't cost anything. Checking the basics first and keeping it simple without spending hard earned money for parts not needed and your car, meanwhile is still parked on the front lawn as a monumental reminder. Here is one good tip forgotten by many. The word is "Vapor Lock" I find this happens often and to test this is to loosen your gas cap for sucking of air then put your cap back on. I hope my Gripes, Rant, and Yelling helps someone out there!

Grand Prix ES

on a cold start the car would run great, but when at normal op temp, the idle would start to jump up and down and at a complete stop, the car would die out. I replaced the ign module, coil packs(all 3), wires, plugs, crank sensor, knock sensor, radiator, coolant temp sensor, thermostat and gasket. Problem was till there. trouble codes all pointed to the ign module, but it ended up being the module connectors. One was making bad contact.
