The vehicle has had a problem with the transmission slipping off and on for about a year. Aamco couldn't detect a problem without a check engine light. The light came on in February 2005. The vehicle needed a sensor replaced and there was a error on the transmission also. A complete fluid replacement was done and a conditioner added hoping that this would cure the problem. On June 1 the light came on and the slipping occurred again. It lost merging power on the baltimore beltway and I brought it into aamco for an analysis. They concluded that the torque converter is stuck as well as some additional item. The car is a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix with 83,000 miles on it. I believe that the power train warranty only covers the vehicle for 80,000 miles. Since this has been an ongoing problem prior to the 80,000, I would like to think that GM would assume some liability for the repair ($1900). From some of the complaints on your website, I believe that the transmission in this vehicle may be defective in some way.
