My passenger seatbelt warning light stays on when I have a passenger in the front. The ignition switch clicks constantly. The key keeps getting stuck in the ignition switch. The car engine skips whenever I slow down or accelerate. All of this happens whenever I'm driving highway or in town except for when I'm parked and the keys gets stuck in the ignition switch. Please help!!

When I start my 2007 Pontiac Torrent, it smells like gasoline. Beginning when I start my car to the time I turn it off, it smells like gasoline. I fly through gasoline and cannot fill my tan anymore than $10 or else it goes to waste. Smells like there is a leak or crack somewhere towards the front of the car. It's a extremely strong odor!

The vehicle delays speed almost to a crawl during acceleration between 40 and 60 miles per hour. I smell gas constantly. Doesn't matter what the vehicle is doing. But the smell is very strong when I get gas, go around corners, and when it's warm out. The fumes give my husband and I headaches. I fear for my two small children who ride in the car. The fuel lines were replaced last spring to pass emissions testing. I've done research on the internet and see that there have been recalls issued for fuel problems in warmer states. However, the state I live has extreme temperature fluctuations from hot to cold. And gets very cold here in the winter. I'm not sure if the extreme changes could affect what part was recalled. I recently purchased this vehicle. So as to the duration of the ongoing issue, I am unsure. Although, I've had it now for a month.

For the past 1 1/2 years my car has been smelling like gas. I thought it was my gas cap not sealing. I bought a couple new gas cap's I was able to find one from another Torrent. It does seal but sometimes it comes unsealed. I haven't had the issue looked at because I don't have the money to fix it. Every time I'm in my car I fear that it's going to explode. It's even scarier when I have my granddaughters with me. Today I went to get an oil change and they took my car out of the bay immediately. They told me I had a severe fuel leak and I shouldn't drive it anymore because my car could explode. There is a mechanic right next-door and they verified that I do indeed have a bad fuel leak. Tomorrow I have an appointment to have them drop my tank to see what the leak is coming from. From researching the internet for issues like this I found that GM recalled the 2007 Pontiac Torrent with campaign number of 12V459000. The recall is for faulty fuel pumps. Unfortunately my VIN number is not part of the recall. This doesn't make sense to me I've read many complaints on this website from people with the same car and the same issue. I cannot afford to fix my car and get a new fuel pump. I feel that the manufacturer should replace this for me. GM has known about the defective fuel pumps for many years now but did not notify all owners. It should be a national recall not just a recall for a few states. My family's lives are at stake every time I drive my car with a faulty fuel pump. - update there was a crack in the fuel pump causing a severe fuel leak. For my safety I had to have it replaced immediately.

For the past year or two my car has been smelling like gas. I thought it was my gas cap because it stopped sealing. I replaced it several times with a new one. I finally was able to get an original gas cap from another Torrent from from a junkyard. The gas cap goes on and seals but still sometimes comes unsealed. I have not done anything regarding the smell of gas because I do not have the money to fix it or have anybody look at the problem. Today I decided to go have an oil change and they immediately pulled my car out of the bay. They told me I need to stop driving my car because there is a severe fuel leak and my car could explode. Thankfully there is a mechanic right next-door and I had them look and there is a very bad fuel leak. Tomorrow I am scheduled to have them drop the tank so that they can find out what is leaking. I have been researching the internet for issues like this and I came across the recall from GM for a fuel pumps for a 2007 Pontiac Torrent the recall campaign number is 12V459000. However, this recall states that my car doesn't qualify. This does not make sense to me I have read so many things on this site that show many other vehicles like mine have had this issue. For the past six months or so the smell of the fuel has been getting worse and worse. Every time I drive my car I have thoughts and visions of it blowing up. It scares me when I have to have my granddaughters with me I fear for them. I have also been having problems starting my car lately and with my research it seems like it could be from a leaking fuel pump. I feel that my car should be part of the recall and should be repaired and or replaced free of charge. I can't afford to fix a defaulted fuel pump that the manufacturer has known about but has not notified all owners of a 2007 Pontiac Torrent. My life and the lives of my granddaughters should be safe in my car.

2007 Pontiac Torrent with a strong gas odor near the rear of the car after parked. Upon putting the car on a lift, discovered gasoline leaking from the top of the gas tank. Researched and found recalls on this models in certain southern states, but, not in Illinois. I have found many complaints about this but are not in the recall states. There is a problem with this vehicle and it should be recalled to avoid a dangerous fire or explosion. This vehicle could be registered in a recall state and it would be covered under the recall. This doesn't make sense. Was a deal struck with General Motors? the recall number for souther states is NHTSA campaign number: 12V459000 (fuel system, gasoline)

"takata recall" we just got this car it just started leaking around the fuel tank. My husband believes the problem is with the fuel pump. The fuel gage has not worked since before we got the car. It came from windowrock, Arizona, was sold to a dealership in farmington, nm. Then it was sold to another dealership in kirtland, nm. We have it now and have had it almost a month. The airbag warning lights and the check engine lights are on. The check engine light error is something to do with the catalytic converter. I was looking for information about the fuel pump location and how to change it out. I saw something about the fuel pump leaks and airbag problems being a recall issue with this year, make and model out of Arizona. We don't know if there have been previous issues with this problem on this vehicle. We want to be sure that our car is not going to catch fire due to this fuel pump leak, especially if it is a vehicle that should have been recalled and no one heeded that recall or they were not aware of the recall. We want to be and stay safe, and to have a safe vehicle. The leak was noticed when the 2007 Pontiac Torrent was parked. It leaks more and quite a lot of gas while it is parked or not moving such as at traffic lights, while waiting for the light to change. It may be leaking while it is traveling down the street, highway etc. We don't know for sure. While parked at the grocery store for about 15 to 20 minutes it leaked a puddle of gas about the size of a basketball around onto the parking lot where we were just parked in a space. This seems like a dangerous or potentially dangerous situation. Should this have been one of the vehicles recalled? we really need this unsafe situation corrected so that it doesn't catch fire and one of us or someone else be seriously injured or die in a car fire from this problem.

There was a vivid gasoline smell inside the vehicle and on the outside right rear by the gas tank, took it to a mechanic come to find out it was was the return port on the fuel pump module that had cracked, which is very dangerous because I was driving the vehicle and a nice part for my brakes or anywhere could have caused a fire. I find out that there is a recall on the plastic supplier return port so I had my mechanic save my part on my vehicle and it is documented that this is the actual part that is on recall from other 2007 Pontiac Torrent this is a dangerous situation and I believe it needs attention before someone gets hurt or killed buy an explosion or fire.

Years ago we started smelling gasoline around the vehicle, we assumed that was normal, but two months ago the odor started smelling even inside the car causing us headaches. I checked under the hood, I found nothing; later I decided to inspect under the car. It was then that I noticed fuel was coming out from the upper side of the tank fuel down into the wiring connectors, which were soaked in fuel. At this point I have stopped driving the car.
