I waited 9 months to be notified that a part was available for the airbag recall. Shortly after the replacement part was installed the airbag light began going on and off. I called the dealer and was told that only if it was related to the particular part they installed was it covered. Since it would go on and off I left the problem, but since it never happened prior to the repair (8 years!) I was annoyed. 2 months later I was in a significant re-end accident the car was a total loss and the airbag never deployed. Should have kept complaining to the dealership/GMC to correctly repair the problem.

Thinking class action lawsuit. Very recently I received a recall on my GM/Pontiac car The recall is because if deployed, the passenger side airbags, in several various GM makes & models will spew potentially lethal metal fragments. The recall period covers 2003-2007 cars. The letter said they CANNOT currently repair the airbags, we will receive another letter when they can and NOT to use the front passenger seat until then, When I contacted a rep and then a supervisor, I eventually got her to tell me when they expect to START repairs. She DID NOT want to disclose this. Probably because they WILL NOT BEGIN repairs until at least MID 2016, basically a year from now!! Asked her what owners are to do until then, that a year is a completely unreasonable amount of time to use loose use of your front passenger seat. Additionally, if want to sell during that time, sale price is adversely effected since seat is unusable without risking death in the slightest fender bender.

Supervisor said that General Motors WILL DO NOTHING to assist, compensate or speed up getting issue resolved. She also said that they recommend disabling the airbag. This would be at the owners expense. So to keep their faulty product from killing someone, we have cars that do not have a working airbag, you know those things they say ALL cars should now have. And to add insult to injury we have to pay for disablGeneraling them. WTF. Hence, wanting resolution or to find owners interested in filing a class action suit against General Motors. ‪#‎generalmotors‬, ‪#‎fraud‬, ‪#‎classaction‬, ‪#‎badservice‬, ‪#‎lethalproblemwithGMcars‬, ‪#‎GMcarscankill‬, ‪#‎deadly‬, ‪#‎airbags‬, ‪#‎consumerreports‬, ‪#‎kelleybluebook‬
