911 Carrera S 3.8L

  • Manual transmission
  • 28,000 miles

Vehicle will hesitate for a several seconds when accelerator depressed when you start moving while turning either in forward or reverse. Then it will all of a sudden kick into full throttle and then have to throw clutch in all the way to prevent out of control accident. Happens sporadically, but is extremely serious when it turtles out in front of traffic, then 385 HP randomly kicks in! A couple dealerships cannot figure it out or repair it despite it being under warranty on several occasions. It seems like Porsche is hiding a serious DFI problem. Add to it a blown O2 sensor under 30K miles, burning oil rapidly, getting 10 mpg less than stated, and stalling out while clutch is depressed all the way while car is coasting there is a serious problem with this car. Suspect either a problem w/ cyliders or after reading about their sister companies issues w/DFI, valve corrosion from burning too much oil. Unfortuntely the 2 dealerships I have gone to would not do a throrough investigation.
