1500 Big Horn 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,020 miles

The U Connect system reboots at times while I am driving, the GPS will sometimes freeze or show me miles away from my current location, the clock will freeze intermittently, and the following message is displayed on the 8.4" touchscreen: "VEHICLE PHONE REQUIRES SERVICE, PLEASE CONTACT DEALER." Along with this message a red led is illuminated on the rear view mirror next to the 911 button.

I took it in to Sport Dodge in New Jersey, and they said it needed a software update, which they did. Problem still exists, and they claim they need to see the problem before they can fix it. Well they would have to drive it daily, because as I said, the problem is intermittent. Although since they updated the software it seems to happen more frequently.

1500 Lonestar 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

Purchased 2013 Ram 1500 in June of 2013. Several times during the last week immediately after starting the truck the following message is displayed on the 8.4" touchscreen: "VEHICLE PHONE REQUIRES SERVICE, PLEASE CONTACT DEALER." Along with this message a red led is illuminated on the rear-view mirror next to the 911 button. I took my truck to Randell Dodge in Henderson, Texas, they kept it for a day and didn't fix problem. Said I bought truck used, which had only 7000 miles on it, it might have been damaged somehow and may not be covered under warranty. I think Randell Dodge in Henderson just does not want to bother trying to find problem.
