1500 Big Horn 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 23,000 miles

I was trying to leave home. I started my truck and tried to put in reverse and it was locked. I can't move, can't tow, can't do anything but let it sit... I could not move the truck to get my other car out of the garage as truck was parked in back of car. I finally got through to my dealer's customer service who said to disconnect battery cables then reattach. It worked fine then two weeks later, I locked up in park again in the middle of a rain storm away from my home. Yeah, I got very wet.

1500 Big Horn 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,092 miles

The truck was being driven by my wife with our grandchildren in the back seat on the way to Easter Sunday Services. She stopped for a stop sign 2 blocks from our house. When she attempted to pull off from the stop sign, the truck would not move. The check engine light and park brake light were both lit up on the dash. The message center was showing a "Service Traction Control" message. The truck would not shift out of park. If you moved the transmission dial to any setting, it would go back to Park and the "Service Traction Control" message would flash and display. We could not get the truck to shut off either. When you tried to turn it off, it would go to ACC mode not OFF. I started a Roadside Assistance claim and was told to disconnect the battery for about 2 minutes and then reconnect it. I did this and the transmission would then shift into gear. We backed it up to our yard. We are calling the dealership in the morning to get the truck checked. We will update any information they give us.
