2500 ST 5.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 44,000 miles

While towing a 7300 lb 35' travel trailer at 55 mph on the highway with wife and 3 kids in the truck, we hit a series of highway bumps then the steering began violently shaking and I had to hit the brakes, pull over to the shoulder immediately for it to stop. It was near complete loss of ability to control the steering of the truck.

2500 SLT 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 111,000 miles

I'm new to the truck scene. Took my lifted 2012 RAM 2500 5.7L HEMI to an ORV... Now it drives like hell. Its all over the road at higher speeds and towing a trailer. On uneven roads it feels like the truck is being sucked towards the flaw in the road. I've replaced the inner tie rod to the pitman arm, I've tightened a lower cam bolt, and got a second alignment in a month. Earlier today I noticed my sway bar links are bent as well. Come to find out there are also two recalls on my truck. Steering wiring is bad and the left tie rod end is weak. Good to know now that I've spent $2,500 on a new stereo because my last UCONNECT kept shorting out and now the second new one in a year is doing the same. I'm not happy because according to these rants no one knows why or can figure out what is wrong with this issue. And the guys that might have cant get Dodge to fix it! I don't have the money to dig deeper. Replacing tie rods is my only solution right now or paying a dealer to rip apart my chassis at $120 an hour. Before I became to worried about the steering (since I thought it could be fixed from a rough trip to an ORV,) I bought a 2012 Ram 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel. So the lifted truck is now my fiancees pavement pounder. I thought she was a lucky gal... now I'm worried about her driving it.

2500 ST 6.7L Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5 miles

I bought a 2500 Dodge Crew Cab 4x4 on the way home it started pulling to the left. When you put a trailer on it the truck was uncontrollable. I took it in 5 times to dealers to have the steering checked. They could not find the problem. So, I put new tires on it and that did not solve the problem. After Dodge kept lying to me I decided to take it on my own.

I paid out of my pocket for a frame and body shop to check my truck. They found that the frame was misaligned on the truck and in some places as much as 1 inch. The frame shop said I needed a new frame. I took the truck back home and called Chrysler and stated that I found the problem. They said who found your problem. I told them that I took it to a frame machine and they refused to honor his finding. They said I had to take it to a Dodge Dealer in-house frame machine.

I called 15 different dealers in Oklahoma and none of them had a frame machine to handle this truck. I again called Chrysler they said if I could not find a Dodge dealer to check the truck I was out of luck. They refused to fix this truck and said not to bother them again with this problem. This problem is still not fixed.

It is a death trap waiting to kill someone, but Dodge doesn't care. I had 5 trucks I sold them all. And I will never buy another truck with a Dodge emblem on the front.

Update from Aug 8, 2015: My 2500 Dodge truck 4 x 4 pulled hard to the right all the time. I took it to 5 dealers to have it fixed and they could not find the problem. So, I took it to Legends Body Shop in Oklahoma City. They put it on a frame machine and found out that on the right rail of the frame the bracket was welded on 1 inch backwards. Causing the right front wheel to set back 1 inch. Causing it to pull to the right. I called Dodge customer service and they refused to fix to fix the truck so I filed a Lemon Lawsuit against Dodge and they still will not fix the truck. They tried to buy me off with a small amount of $4,000.00 but I refused. I go to court August 17, 2015, I hope. I have been in the lawsuit over 3 years now and it is still not resolved. Even after Dodge admitted to wrong doing. So if your truck is pulling hard to the right check the right frame rail for a bad bracket on the lower control arm, which pulls your right tire out of alignment...it will make it pull hard to the right especially when towing.

2500 Lonestar 6.7L Cummins

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

I was told there was an issue with the tie rods on the 2012 2500 4x4 trucks. When I ask the dealer, they state there is not a recall on tie rods.

What is up with this?

2500 Laramie Longhorm 5.9L Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10 miles

My new ram 2500 wanders all over the road from the night i drove it home from the dealer. took to 1st dodge dealer, they didn't have a line up rack big enough to line it up. Service manager drove it said nothing was wrong/ 2nd dealer said he thought something was wrong when he drove it, couldn't find a reason, so they check the alignment, which was out. After alignment seems to drive better but not like a 60k truck should. Still wanders all over the road.

going to take it to another dealer, but will probably get the same answer. anyone else having this problem?

2500 Laramie Longhorn 6.7L Cummins Ho

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,200 miles

At about 1100 miles on a 2012 Laramie Longhorn Edition Ram 2500 with a diesel the front end started flying all over the place when on a road that is not perfectly flat (any road out there). Seems like I'm just holding on to the steering wheel for dear life while the front end goes where it wants to go. Taking it to the dealership this week (2nd trip since I bought it 2 weeks ago...first trip was a front wheel speed sensor that caused the service engine, service 4wd system, traction control, and ABS lights to come on and stay on...40 miles after purchase. Driving it home after purchase actually...) anyways...taking it in this week. The front right end squeaks like an old mattress and now I have this feeling not in control issue. First purchase of a Dodge and starting to feel all those statements of warning from the friends that have had them in the past... for just over $60k I don't think I should be experiencing these issues
