The cruise control on the vehicle doest work. It seems to be something wrong with the system, because it starts to somewhat work when I reboot the system to factory settings. After a while, the system just stops working. I guess that this is something a lot of people go through, since there's tons of youtube videos about people trying to fix it.

The truck was recalled and repaired or up dated as per recall notices. Then I started having trouble with my cruise control. My dealer checked the switch and fuse, they where ok. The tech said there is maybe something broke in the clock spring. I only have 29K on the truck. I think they may have broke something in one of the recall fixes. There seems to be other people with the same trouble. I don't think they fixing the recalls properly. Why should I pay for their guess work and/or sloppy work.

On December 21st, 2018 I took my truck to a car wash. Following the initial cleaning the attendant placed the truck in neutral, exited the truck, engaged the track mechanism and walked back to the next truck in line. I was in the glassed in area watching. Without warning the truck went to full throttle racing through the car wash tunnel and hitting a Toyota van waiting to be moved to the next cleaning point. I watched as the attendant tried to race down the tunnel after the truck. Just as the truck struck the van he entered and put the truck in park. The engine slowed from full throttle to what appeared to be normal. I filed a complaint with Chrysler. They had a third party run a diagnostic program on my truck. They sent the information to Chrysler engineers. I received a phone call telling me Chrysler was not responsible for the incident. I have written them again telling them I thought their investigation was incomplete since they spoke to no one on staff at the car wash or review the video of the event. They implied the problem was caused by after market mats. Since I was present and observed the incident, I am not satisfied with that explanation and have asked them to state to me in writing my truck is safe to drive. I do not anticipate that happening as I believe they are playing a classic game of cya. There is a video of the event as it happened.

I have been receiving a fault code on my truck for "electronic throttle control" I take it to an auto parts store and dealership to only be told no codes are present, even when they see the light on the dash. Since having the code pop up my fuel consumption has increased drastically. My avg mpg went from 14.6mpg to 10.2mpg, with the same driving conditions and same route that I have driven the last 4 years. I have had both the dealership and auto parts store clear the codes that are present, the light goes out. But will return within minutes of driving. But yet no fault codes for it specifically. I have searched the net for this issue and have found several articles on multiple Dodge, Ram and crystler vehicles doing this same issue with the dealership telling them the same thing. For me to be consuming a larger amount of fuel with driving the same route and conditions this has to be doing something drastic and damaging to the emission and engine.

I noticed my steering wheel was off center. Also the electronic stability control system was going off repeatedly. I took it to a dealership for inspection and they found no "codes" in the computer and could not get the ESC to go off while driving. They neglected to notice my steering was off center. They said nothing was wrong with the vehicle and to just turn off the ESC and if it went off again to stop and turn the truck on and off again. I had the wheels aligned thinking this was the problem. The truck seemed sensitive while driving over bumps in the road but I didn't realize the issue. A few days later while driving on the interstate at 70 mph the truck began to shake violently and would not stop until I reduced the speed to 20 mph. It was extremely dangerous and hard to drive or steer while it was shaking. It did this again 3 more times. I kept the speed at 55-60 mph and was able to get the vehicle home without incident. I took it in to the dealer the next morning and they drove it barely a mile and the steering almost completely failed. I could have had total steering failure and lost control of the vehicle. My truck has approximately 64,000 miles it is 3 years old and it has never been wrecked.

"dead pedal" issue- when you need to accelerate quickly in traffic, and you push the accelerator pedal more than about 70%, the truck just sits there... like there is no power. It will eventually (4-6 seconds later) slowly increase speed, or if you feather the pedal, it will accelerate into traffic. This is a safety concern when pulling into traffic from a side street, or other times when entering faster moving traffic. It does not seem to be turbo lag, but rather some kind of programing in the drive train that keeps the truck from accelerating briskly when pushing on the pedal..... this happens frequently, the listed date is the last time I felt it. It has happened at least 30-40 times since I have bought the truck new in Jan 2013. Note: I am not talking about being able to drag race or smoke tires... I am talking about when you need to quickly pull out into traffic... definite safety issue...

My 2014 Ram 2500 6.7 diesel truck has a problem with a throttle hesitation in certain situations (dead pedal) the problem is if you give it some throttle and then you let off slightly and reapply the throttle again the truck will not respond to the throttle input for a couple of seconds! this situation can be very dangerous and has put me in a bad situation several times nearly causing an accident! this needs to be addressed!

Vehicle consistently has no throttle response for a second or two when going from stationary to full throttle. Primarily when making a quick decision to pull out at an intersection or merge into traffic. If the accelerator is pushed then released and pushed again there is an extremely lag. This is especially dangerous due to the fact that if you are needing full throttle acceleration all of my situations have required needing it fast. The acceleration being delayed has resulted in near misses when entering an intersection as seconds of delay in response causes approaching vehicles to get closer than they ever should.

Periodically when pressing gas pedal I get no response and truck just lags. Unfortunately this seems to always happen when I'm trying to merge onto the highway or when I'm making a left turn and although I make the turn with oncoming traffic at a good distance sometimes the truck just stops and I have a delay before the truck starts moving again while I'm sitting right in the way of oncoming traffic.

Very long (2-5sec) hesitation occasionally on acceleration. Mostly occurs when leaving a stop or accelerating from very low speeds. I have had a few near misses because of this. Attempts to have the dealer remedy this issue has yielded no results.

On multiple occasions I have completely lost throttle response for up to 3-5 seconds. The most severe occasions are when trying to turn left across a 2 lane highway or changing lanes/merging in heavy traffic. The throttle response loss aka "dead pedal" is heavily documented in cummins forums is easily duplicated by barely touching the throttle, letting off for a split second, and then hitting the throttle again. These steps will put the truck in dead pedal/loss of acceleration for several seconds before power is applied and the truck starts accelerating. This is a major safety issue and one that I tried to ignore for the first 50,000 miles by being patient and leaving lots of room for merging/turning, but after a near miss accident that could have been fatal it needs to be reported so Chrysler will fix this known issue happening with all new model 2500's. on 11/21/2015 I tried to turn left onto a 2 lane highway and was almost hit by oncoming traffic going 65 mph. This particular highway has little visibility to oncoming traffic due to a hill. I touched the throttle to turn and then hesitated for split second, backing off the throttle, and then decided it was clear and hit the throttle again but the truck was completely unresponsive for several seconds before gaining power again and accelerating. It's huge safety concern that if I hit the accelerator in my $60K truck it may not go anywhere for several seconds.

When accelerating then letting off accelerator for a brief moment then trying to re-accelerate there is no response / dead pedal delay for 2 seconds then the truck will accelerate. Very dangerous in traffic situations. Dealer is aware of problem and can duplicate all the time. No solution at this time.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Ram 2500. While driving at various speeds with the cruise control activated, the vehicle accelerated independently when the brake pedal was depressed to deactivate the cruise control. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the brake pedal switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the contact stated that a load noise was present coming from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the track arm assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 18,000.

Went to accelerate when the gas pedal went to the floor stuck and reached speeds 110 mph, hit the brakes thinking I hit cruise control, released brake only to see that it did not slow down, hit the brakes again and put in neutral twice, did not want to turn off key at that time being on a busy highway I-25. The second time in neutral it shut itself down because rpms were so high, finally the pedal came up on its own. It was flashing at the time throttle sensor and the red lighting bolt. I brought it in and codes came up, I was told the code came up for brakes as they said it was due to me driving with two feet, [xxx]. they released the vehicle to me saying it was safe to drive because they could not get it to happen again. So now I have to drive a brand new vehicle worrying if this is going to happen again and where it might happen, on one of the Colorado passes, or in traffic. A dead throttle pedal occurs at two different instances. One, when from a dead stop pulling out into traffic. The accelerator pedal will press but the vehicle will not go or change RPM for a second, then the vehicle will move. Two, when trying to pass someone, occasionally the vehicle will exhibit the same dead pedal response for a moment then accelerate. This is most definitely unsafe for my family. Multiple dealerships have told me they cannot replicate the problem, but I have researched online and many others have experienced the same. It is a concern that must be fixed.
