2500 Tradesman 6.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 86,000 miles

Started with a ticking in the engine, gradually got louder over a few days. Then, clanking, banging in the lower part of the engine that scared me so much I drove it to the dealership not knowing if it was going to blow up.

The engine failed, lifter blew or something and that's ALL they are telling me. I purchased the extended warranty but here's the deal, I did not have my oil changes done exactly on the dot so SORRY it isn't covered. In no universe is an oil change done 5k miles late going to blow up an engine with well under 100k on it.

I told them there is no way I am eating the 30k I spent on a brand new truck three years ago because the engine they put in it blew up. INSANE!

The 2500 is a piece of crap, I have had 1500's forever that have ran well over 200k. Don't buy these pieces of junk.
