problem #2

Apr 012016

2500 Long Horn 6.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,500 miles

The Satellite Radio cuts in and out when I travel in El Paso, TX. It works great in AZ and NM, just doesn't work in Texas. The Pandora Radio App and several other apps do not work at all; I would expect these features to work when they are a deciding factor and when you pay $70K for a new vehicle.

problem #1

2500 ST 6.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,500 miles

I have a new 2016 Ram crew cab 4x4 diesel 1,500 miles and have had problems with the U connect radio Sirius radio signal cutting in and out constantly searching for signal. I have been in contact with Sirius and they have refreshed the radio several times and it still constantly searches for signal.Sirius says it is not their signal it is the radio.

I have taken it to the dealer to have them fix it and they tell me that there is nothing that they can do. I have called U connect and they either do not return calls or if they do call and I am not home, because of work, I call back and I always get message, they are busy. I called Chrysler main office and they gave me the run around to keep trying to contact U connect. I have made numerous attempts and I finally got a hold of a lady who said that some body would contact me between the hours of 9am and 7 pm EST. She hung up on me after I said I could not sit by the phone and wait for a call to give me a time.

I am frustrated with how I have been treated by the U connect and Chrysler, I have two other vehicles a 2012 Chrysler 200 S with 0 problems with the car and a 2001 Dodge Cummings with O problems, I have Sirius Radios in both and they never search for signal unless I am in the shop with a roof covering the antenna. I have done some research on this and this has been a problem sense 2013. I have wrote letters to U connect asking them to replace the radio in my new truck with a Sirius radio made by U connect like the one in our Chrysler 200, according to the mechanics at the Dodge dealership I take my truck too, the radio will fit right in.

As of this moment I have not heard from U Connect or been able to contact them and talk to some body that can resolve this issue. I have taken the truck in ( 2016 Ram 4x4 crew cab diesel) in for service on the radio 3 times now and with all the same results the dealer tells me that there is nothing they can do. One dealer told me he has this same problem with all new trucks he sells, the dealer says he has complained also and to no avail as to fix the problem. I will be looking in to a attorney to file a class action law suit against Chrysler, if this is not resolved in a timely manner as I am now getting agitated .

I pay $ 50,000 for new truck I expect it all to work, as one U connect rep said to me ( it is a Radio live with it and hung up on me) I have been calm and nice to all, because I know it is not the people who work theirs fault, but it is Chrysler;s for not taking care of the problem and addressing the issue. This has been on going for several years now. Some people who read this may think this is petty but I live in my truck as I work out of town and have no TV, Cell service or phone of any type for that matter in till I get home so the Sirius radio is my life line to civilization during the week, music, news, and weather . I just want it fixed.
