The contact owns a 2017 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was being driven approximately 75 MPH, there was sudden drop on the passenger-€™s side of the vehicle. The driver waited until the vehicle decelerated before being able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The contact stated that the rear passenger-€™s side wheel had detached. The wheel hub assembly, brake pads, rotors, and the studs on all four wheels were replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer confirmed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V398000 (Wheels). The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

5 of the 8 wheel studs on the left rear tire suddenly sheared off while my husband was driving the vehicle. This occurred without warning and with no provoking event - just driving normally. My husband was able to safely pull over and was not hurt but it could have potentially caused a crash and/or serious bodily harm to him or others on the roadway. I contacted the dealer knowing that a recall had been issued for similar year trucks (we received a recall for this on our Ram 4500) and they rudely told me that there was not a recall on this truck and they would not fix it. I do have a picture and the shears were all fresh suggesting that it occurred all at once. The dealer will not look at it for 30 days so we are making other arrangements to have the repair done but I worry about the other tires. If there are multiple year recalls in RAM trucks of varying models for the same thing that would suggest that this event has occurred from a similar manufacturing defect. Dodge needs to take responsibility and offer a solution before someone else is hurt or killed. I don't care about the money. I care about the lives of the people driving RAM trucks and the manufacturer says it is not on them.

I made appointment with Ram dealership. The letter said 2 or so hours. The advisor stated, it will take all day because I was a recall and they will not have the diesel mechanic stop working on other vehicles for a recall. Which makes no sense since it's not my fault The truck not safe to drive. In addition, I depend on my truck because I use it for my work - hot shot (delivery). I been waiting at dealership for over 3 hours and they still have not even looked at it. The dealership is not prioritizing my vehicle, although it should since I am a customer after all and this is a recall from the manufacturer. Dealerships should be made aware that a vehicle should be fixed as they come in, not based on whether you are paying or not. This dealership always does this when warranty or recalls and it's frustrating. It's not fair for us to lose this much time because we are not paying. How is it my fault the vehicle is defective? After all it was not caused because of my driving but because it was not manufactured correctly. I like Ram but the dealership need to better understand the customer whether paying or not. This is not fair and is annoying.

  • 18,312 miles
My 2017 Ram 3500 6.7L dually with only 18,312 miles on it had a tread separation on a factory nexen roadian rear tire. Had another one previously late last year on a factory front tire at 14,412 miles. Luckily I discovered both with cupping of the tier and road vibration before catastrophic failure. The factory nexen roadian 10 ply tires on the Ram trucks are crap and dangerous and I've read many other complaints about these same factory tires, some with catastrophic results. Ram should have recalled and replaced these tires after seeing all the complaints! I use this truck to pull a 34 ft horse trailer with $50,000 horses, but more importantly, my wife is usually out on the road with it alone and it could be catastrophic to have a failure at highway speeds with a heavy trailer. Ram is responsible for this poor choice of tires.

Parking brake locked up due the fact that parking brake pads had been completely worn. Details: Bought vehicle at 100 miles and had always been releasing the parking lever prior to drive and at little over 2,000 miles, parking brake failed and locked up at a parking lot 150 miles away from home. I believed the parking brake system must had been engaged without my knowledge since there had been no warning light on dash. That was why it took over 2000 miles to completely wear down parking brakes to the point at the final pull/engagement, it locked up. Since the vehicle is still brand new and under manufacturer warranty, I had asked dealer to investigate and dealer would not. I had also asked fca to send engineer to investigate the incident and was told "no". their reason was it was my fault which is easier for them to do than accept the responsibility. I also asked my extended warranty policy people (which I had purchased) but the extended warranty folks said, the vehicle was brand new so it would be cover under the manufacturer warranty which the extended warranty would not cover until the manufacturer warranty period had expired. Since this is a brake issue and I believe this is also a safety issue which I need help escalating to fca to take/accept some responsibility at least to investigate.

Recently, I departed from home in my truck to head out on errands. I found it was difficult to steer. Realizing it felt like a flat front tire, I pulled off the road and found the front right tire was flat. At no time did I receive any warning from the factory installed tire pressure monitoring system. Looking at the TPMS, the pressure indicated 14 psi, then later 11 psi. At no time did I receive an audible or visual alarm from the truck. Later I had the nearby dealership investigate this, and they reported the system is working as designed, but they can't/won't show me in writing when the alarms are supposed to activate. I have an open case with Ram customer care, but the manager continues to point towards the dealership's verbal answer. Another person I know was recently driving towing a heavy rig when another driver pointed out to them that they had a flat tire on the truck. They told me they had not received any warning from the TPMS. As you know, the risk of a tire overheating and blowing is what TPMS is supposed to help drivers avoid. A TPMS that is not warning drivers after about 10-20% loss of pressure is creating a risk for operators and other vehicles and passengers.

Both front tires separated. Almost caused accident. Immediate shutter and bouncing of truck. I was forced to replace them. Ended up replacing all six tires due to fear the others would separate. Ram need to discontinue placing these tires on their $60 - $70 truck. Should a disservice to their customers.

Nexen tires LT235/80R. Had a right front tire separate with 10,232 miles on it. As soon as that one was replace put on another 220 mile and the other fron tire separates. Nexen will not honor and claim and will not back their product. When the second tire separated I was pulling a 15K pound 5th wheel on the interstate. It was like I had the death wobble no matter what speed. These are dangerous tires and should be recalled. However I am not waiting with this safety all tires are being replaced. Both times during separation I was driving the vehicle.

'takata recall' mike complaint is with nexen tires, the tires have less than 16,000 miles on them and were noted to be separating I contacted nexen tire who told me to look at the warranty and refunded me a check for $150 for tires and installation for over $450 for something that is not my fault. I just found online where nixon tires have had incidents with the same exact tire that I have, I believe this was an issue they are aware about and failed the consumer. I have exchange the tires for two new mexican tires thinking this might of been an isolated incident but both places from which I got the tires replaced that said that next and tires we're separating and that was the cause of my tire damage but nixon has refused to reimburse me my money please help

Driving on I-95 in Georgia, all 8 of the lug studs on the drivers side dual rear wheels sheared off, causing the outer wheel to shoot past the truck in traffic, while attempting to stop the vehicle. Vehicle was moving at a rate of 60 mph when the onset of severe vibration caused me to look for a safe place to pull over, and slow down. Thank god the other rear wheel remained on the hub, though completely unsecured. The truck has just 4,500 miles on it.

Issue : pro comp wheels series 31 (#6031-8982) the wheel issues have been 3 separate incidents in which the wheel cracks @ the spoke and face of the wheel causing all the air to escape, causing the vehicle and operator to loose control due to wheel tire failure with sudden deflation. Pro comp wheels has been notified but to no prevail no return response from company. All 3 separate incidents have been while traveling and ranging from mileage of 171 miles to the most current 19232 miles on vehicle.
