2007 Saturn Aura xe passenger airbag light is intermittently on and off with passenger in the seat. Service airbag light comes on. Dealer states it will cost $960. To replace the pps module, the seat coil and the heater in the seat. This has occurred sporadically since I purchased this care with 35000 miles on it. As this is a safety issue with numerous complaints from other owners, it should be corrected by the manufacturer.

The "service airbag" light illuminates on the message center dashboard. There is also red light that depicts an airbag that needs serviced on the dashboard.

I own a 2007 Saturn Aura with 90,000 miles on it, the service air bag light and chime has come on repeatedly in the past year. Service dept stated no problem.. now I am reading about others who have had that problem that should be fixed. I have an extended warranty on this vehicle and hope it is covered as the repair is estimated to be about 1000, more or less.

We noticed a "service air bags" message on the dashboard. Also the air bag indicator remained "off" even when the passenger seat was occupied. The service department of a former Saturn dealer diagnosed the problem as a "short in the passenger presence module." Technician stated the air bag on passenger side would likely not deploy in the event of an accident. Repair involving replacement of the "switch" was made at a cost of $717.

I drive a 2007 Saturn Aura and recently the service air bag light came on. I had onstar do a diagnostic test on it while the light was on. They onstar personal stated that the code regarding the service air bag light, meant that the airbag might not deploy if I was in a wreck. She stated that it was for the passenger side air bag. I have talked with the service department at Saturn and they stated that it would take a while to get the part because it is on back order, meaning there has been more than my car that has had this problem. I had spoken to a lady in the service department two weeks prior to my light coming on and she had stated that she was there for that same reason. She also drives a 2007 Saturn Aura. I feel that since this is such a safety issue that is happening a lot, that there should be some kind of recall before someone gets killed. Let me remind you that most passengers in the front seat of a sedan is usually kids. We shouldn't have to wait till someone dies to have something done about this issue.

On board computer sends message to "service airbag, " passenger air bag light then proceeds to indicate that air bag is off -with or without person in seat. Happens intermediately. Have taken to dealer, but where told they could not replicate or did not have a "code " to reset and would have to just "see if it keeps happening." Consider this dangerous if in an accident.

Passenger airbag off light stays lit when seat is occupied. This defeats the purpose of an airbag and is certainly unsafe.
