The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that the shift cable broke as a result the vehicle kept moving forward even though he had placed the shifter into 'R' and the shift indicator showed 'R'. he was surprised that the vehicle moved forward instead of backward. Fortunately, there was no one or objects immediately before the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who stated the transmission shift cable had to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted who was unable to assist because the vehicle was out of warranty and it was not included in recall 09V073000 (power train: Automatic transmission: Lever and linkage: Column shift). The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 45,071 and the current mileage was 45,726. Updated 3/28/11 updated 03/31/11
