My engine light keeps coming on. I am constantly getting code P2138. I have taken it mechanics on several occasions and had it repaired. The problem kept recurring. So I googled it and there was info online indicating that there is a bulletin alerting a General Motors Mechanic’s of this recurring problem. So I had my car towed by an Onstar agent to a Chevy Dealer and told him about the info I found online, I alerted the service department of the GM mechanics alert. After checking my car the service department discovered there are multiple leaks in the car which have resulted in corrosion of the floor board, which they say needs to be replaced. Plus there are electrical problems created from leaks on the front dashboard and the sunroof. The dealer said it would cost $1400 to repair the leaks, but not the rusted out floorboard. He also felt I shouldn’t out anymore money in the car because of the rusted floorboard!!!!

Before I had car towed to dealer, it sat in driveway in 80-90 degree heat, and the engine light went out. But I had it towed anyway, because this keeps happening, and when I drive the car, it keeps stalling out on me and I have had to have the car towed. So now I have a car with less than $61,000 miles on it, and every time it pours rain, the engine light comes on. So I drove the car to get tested for echeck after the engine light went out after sitting in driveway in the sun. Well the engine light came on again by the time I made it to the echeck, and it failed the test. So it poured raining a few days later and this time the drivers floor flooded. It’s still water on the floor a month later, and the engine light is still on. Plus now my license has expired!!! So now I have a car that’s flooding on the drivers side, with the engine light on, and my license plate has expired. So at this point I don’t know what to do.

I have gotten one 30 day tag for $20 since then. but it has expired. I’m allowed an additional 30 day tag, but I’m really frustrated now. My car was in excellent running condition, has less than 62,000 miles. And I always had it serviced regularly. Plus the body looks really great except for scratches here or there. I don’t know for sure what’s going on with the engine light, the electrical shortages and the flooding. The flooding didn’t occur until I took it to the Chevy service center! Now what do I do? GM isn’t offering any help or explaining what’s really going on here?

We have addressed and addressed the engine light issue. The clutch upstop was replaced last time to get it to go off....it has to be off to pass inspection. Now...it is on again and none of the doors, windows, or locks will work.
