The door latches are failing intermittently and the doors will not close. We have had to tie the back doors closed with rope to prevent them from opening while driving. I've seen a recall for this on the 2008 models, what about the 2006 models?

The contact owns a 2006 Saturn Vue. The contacted stated that when all four power doors were locked with the key fob a few moments later all doors would unlock independently. The failure caused the security system to sound when accessing the doors. The contact mentioned that to deactivate the security alarm, the contact would use the unlock feature on the key fob. The contact stated that the failure occurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the lock switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000. The VIN was not available.

Within 6 months 3 of the four door latches on the vehicle have failed and would no longer latch. In the first two cases no problem other than the door latch mechanically failing has been found and the latch has had to be replaced. The third latch is intermittently failing and needs to be replaced. Given that they are all mechanical failings of a critical safety component and I can think of no easily explainable reason other than design I thought I should report it as a concern.

A few times since the summer of 2003 we would try to shut the rear passenger car door and it would not catch to close. We put some lithium grease thinking it just needed that. This weekend while putting the kids in the car the door would not shut. It took 30 minutes of manipulating the handle, door locks and window to try and get the door to shut. We cannot let our children ride in the car because we know the latch could fail and our children could be put in harms way.

2006 Saturn Vue rear door latches both do not work - doors fly open - had trouble after 2 years on passenger side, got it working, then a year later both failed completely (out of warranty of course). I understand there is a recall on 2008 Vues, what about 2006?

I have an '06 Vue. Both of the back doors will not open from the inside or the outside. The factory was no help. I am in the shreveport area and was very disappointed that they would not help me. They were not even sure if they could fix the problem. Recall needs to be done. Had to take my vehicle to a body shop to have it serviced.

1) leading events - purchased the car in 2009 used from a certified dealer, was provided with 2 separate sets of keys. Within the first 6 months of driving I noticed increased difficulty in starting the car with the keys provided. Alerted dealer and was given another set of keys. 2) failure - key to ignition frequently sticks and stays in the ignition while car is running. Also have identified that the steering wheel frequently locks which makes it even more difficult to start the ignition. 3) initially I was given a replacement key from the dealer that worked on and off. The car will be turned in for service this weekend to determine what the defect is if any on the car. Estimated cost $250-$500.

I was unable to open my drivers side door from both the outside and the from inside of the vehicle. I called the dealer in my city, they were able to replace the door latch. I was told that this is a common problem with the Saturn Vue, so I was surprised that I was charged for the replacement.

The 2006 Saturn Vue had an exhaust bolt broke when taken to dealership at scottsdale Saturn. The bolt was connected to the exhaust manifold up by the engine. They said it must have broke off but I didn't believe them. So it would have cost to much at the dealership and took it somewhere else to get it fixed, but still think Saturn should have fixed it for free. I think it should be a recall because they Saturn said the bolt was so hot that it broke off. Also the ignition switch started giving me problems now and the keys are ok, it's the ignition switch and there should be a recall on that to. Alot of people with 2006 Vue Saturn are having the exhaust problems and ignition problems. What could you people do for all of us. Please help, thank you.

We bought a Saturn Vue in June of 2006. 2 months after we purchased the Vue we had to bring it in for exhaust and converter and oxidation replacement. Then 2 weeks later we had to have the ignition lock cylinders replaced we could not start our truck. Then in 07 we had the converter and manifold replaced. We were told that the manifold was torqued to much from the manufacture. Then June of this year same issue with the exhaust and converter again. Say the replaced a spring in the converter.
