When it is cold, it is very difficult to turn the key in the ignition. Its takes approx. 30-45 minutes to try and get the key to turn over. Also, once the car is on it is extremely easy for the key to come out of the ignition while the car is running. My transmission also shakes uncontrollably in the park of brake position. When going up and hills or driving on rough roads my speed decreases with out my control. My check engine light comes on at least once a month. I have had to go it checked but, was told that the problems they are mentioned are not problems at all and they can not understand why the engine light keeps coming on.

I was pulling out of a parking lot onto a street when I had to stop for oncoming traffic. When I applied my brakes, the engine started racing and the rpms shot up like the accelerator had stuck. The truck started to lurch forward and I had to throw the vehicle in neutral to avoid being hit by oncoming traffic. At first I had thought that maybe my foot had inadvertently slipped partway off the brake onto the accelerator because my boots were wet and slippery from the snow, or that it was because of the extreme cold we were experiencing. I do not believe either was the case because it has happened two other times since then in the span of three weeks, and all at different temperatures and driving conditions. One time I was driving down the road and as I let off the accelerator the vehicle sped up as I was approaching a red light. I had to throw the vehicle in neutral again to avoid an accident. At that time I was probably driving approximately 20 mph and this occurred on February 26, 2015. The third incident was once again pulling out of a parking lot onto a roadway when the vehicle once again lurched forward as I was applying the brakes and the engine rpms shot up. I believe this incident occurred on March 3, 2015. A check of the accelerator linkage and pedal showed the linkage and pedal to be in excellent condition.

This time after being diagnosed again, with no founded reason for the throttle sticking (at mileage 130000 at the shop, the throttle stuck on hubby while he was driving only 40 mph on the snow covered roads. Throttle stuck and went to over 60mph, at that point he was no longer concerned about the tachometer nor speed. The car stopped only after hitting the guardrails. Police, medics and tow truck on scene, front end of the car was torn off to the ground, unsure of what all damage is done at this point. However the airbags did not deploy either! now this is truly a major incident and we shall see how my insurance company wants to handle the issue. I will not be looking for another Saturn, that is for certain.

Coming up over a hill the throttle stuck open and I tried shifting down, breaking, neutral, and even lifting up the pedal this time. Nothing worked. As I came over the knoll and started descending down the hill it released. Not before I was clocked at 72 in a 55 zone. I explained to the officer who was made aware of the issue, and even called the garage to check that we had scheduled an appt for diagnostics. (it was going in the next day on hubbys day off)

Driving from one work site to another, throttle stuck, not as bad as prior 2 times but nonetheless stuck. Tachometer reading was approx 6-7K. Breaking nor shifting down worked for me, nor did neutral. I was able to pull up on the pedal this time and it seemed to click back into position and release. As I did so, I was clocked for speeding. Clocked at 83 and slowly brought it back to 81, and come to stop with E-brake.called hubby and told him each of the times, he drove for awhile and nothing was felt.

Once again on my way to work, the throttle stuck in the down position and was not releasing until the tachometer was up above 8K. Car would not let me shift and slow, nor break. This time it took just under a mile to return to normal. Neither times were cruise control engaged. Car had been warmed up properly before leaving.

Driving to work and I went to pass another car, the throttle stuck down in the process making the engine rev and RPM tach up to over 8K, , shifting down was no help, neutral was no help, nor was braking. After reaching a speed of over 90mph for about 1 mile it let up on its own. Fortunately I had no other traffic or red lights.

My car has, again, demonstrated failure to accelerate during operation. The car has been "repaired" by the local GMC dealer in Oct 2011 and again earlier this week for the same problem. I picked the car up on wed evening, two days ago, and the same problem recurred today on my way back to the office from lunch. I do not feel safe driving this car! once the gas pump fails to operate, it simply will not move until the car has been turned off and allowed to sit for a while.

While passing another vehicle at around 50 mph, my wife's Saturn Vue (AWD) began to accelerate on its own, and wouldn't stop. She floored the brakes hard enough to slow the vehicle down and pull over to the side of road. But the engine continue to run at a very high RPM, on it's own, until she shut it off.
