This has been happening for many years now. At first it was really like a glitch. The steering wheel light comes on in the dashboard and a beep sounds and the steering becomes really stiff. Turning the engine off and on again will take care of it. This will not happen again probably for many months. Over time it has become more frequent. Now when it happens, turning the engine off and on again does not make the problem go away anymore. However, the problem still does not persist all the time.
