tC 2.4L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Every Scion tC you see on the road now a days has the hatch handle being held on by duct tape. This is pretty unsatisfactory in terms of Toyota and their design principles / responsibility. A hatch of this weight, with all of the weight supported by that flimsy hatch handle is a pretty bad design. They won't honor fixing it through the TSB they put out, even though we're the original owners of the vehicle because the time to report it has passed. Not to mention they didn't mail us the notice that they would fix it.

Look up youtube videos on how to fix it, I suggest zip ties and exterior mounting tape.
