problem #1

Dec 202018

Crosstrek

  • Automatic transmission
  • 22,000 miles

Intermittent issue where ABS, Traction Control, and check engine lights would illuminate and stay on while driving the vehicle. If the lights are illuminated the car is also unable to shift out of park. Also later found out that when the switch randomly fails the brake lights do not illuminate when the brake pedal is applied.

Internet search reveals that is is a very well known problem across multiple Subaru models.

Dealer diagnosed and replaced the brake pedal position switch.
