problem #2

Forester LS 4

Just saw complaints that there was a redesign and a mechanic used a legacy bearing. Does this work? If so, I might need a fourth go round!

This has made me crazy! The left rear wheel bearing & hub has gone out 4 times now and been replaced. Each time it goes out the tires get worn all funky and have to be replaced.

Then this last time the right rear wheel bearing & hub went out it was replaced at the dealer & cost me about $900.00 !!!!!! Un-freaking-real...The dealer shop steward told me that on that same day they did mine they'd also done 3 others just like it.

Now that says something. My regular mechanic says he has another guy with one that's doing the very same thing. He just keeps driving it. Also when my regular mechanic looked it up on his computer to see if there were any new reports about it he said they had put out a bulletin saying that subaru had made a "New Tool" to use when repairing this. Meaning they were cracking on many many cars so they had to make a special tool to use when they replace them. Cant tell me subaru doesnt know there are many many 2001 foresters having this problem!

I read on another forum somewhere of a man that had a 2001 and he'd replaced his 7 times so far! Screw that-I am trading this in for a VAN. Not a Subaru. We have had several subarus and all had something wrong with the rear ends. But this is rediculous. I drive very little-have 89,000 on it now, Bought it brand new and took extremely good care of it. I can't take anymore of this though.

I think it's dangerous. Besides that-IT GETS SO LOUD THIS WHEEL BEARING that I have to turn my radio up to BLASTING to hear it. Who needs to go deaf and have a headache trying to drive somewhere and listen to the radio? The hell with this..It's all detailed and ready to go right now. And I am PISSED!!! Because otherwise it's a great car. But I wont get much for it even in as nice a condition as it is in. Also I hate to pass it on to some other unsuspecting soul. I feel bad about that. I lost about 10 grand on this deal. Never again-no more subarus for me!! OH!!! AND THE ROOF LEAKS!!! &^$#%&^$#%&*%^$@#!!!!
