Forester Touring 2.0xt

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

I am so tired of the same problem occurring. The 2018 Subaru Forester 2.0XT's exhaust manifold is faulty and needs to be redesigned or built better. I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE REOCCUR 4 TIMES IN 1 YEAR. The sound of the exhaust leak and the manifold failing is awful. Basically, it sounds like a loud rattlesnake coming from your engine. It gets worse when going up hills or when first started in the day. It's loud, embarrassing, and should NOT occur this frequently. There is a loss of power and fuel efficiency when this part fails; I'm so tired of it. Every service provider at my dealership has told me that the part frequently fails and cracks. It is horribly built. The part does not last for more than a couple of months before failing again. If you're having this issue, do not stop complaining to the dealership; be a Karen who cares! You should not have to pay for a part that THEY KNOW IS FAULTY!!!!!

Forester 2.5i Touring 2.5i

  • CVT transmission
  • 71,000 miles

We're sorry for what you've been experiencing, Kim. And here we go again. This is the second time I have had a manifold issue with this car. No car should have manifold issues at less than 100,000 miles - let alone twice on the same vehicle.

I escalated the complaint above my dealership and the advocate said that since they are repairing it, it shouldn't be an issue. Yes its an issue because it seems to be a recurring issue with this car.

Forester 2.5i Touring 2.5i

  • CVT transmission
  • 26,000 miles

Car started to sound like a jet engine anytime you started it when cold. I took to dealership and there was a pinhole in the manifold and it had to be replaced. A car with 26000 miles should not be having manifold problems.
