The contact owns a 2020 Subaru Forester. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the front hood independently unlatched and the hood opened. The open hood warning light illuminated on the control panel. The contact drove the vehicle to the shoulder of the road and closed the hood. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
