Impreza 2.0i Premium 2.0L 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 7,601 miles

I bought this car brand new in July 2016. In November 2016 with just under 6,000 miles the red airbag light in the instrument panel would occasionally come on and stay on. I took it to the dealership and of course the light went off on the way there. So I spend 3 hours at the dealership and they couldn't find a problem, but with a scan they could see a history of the light coming on. They checked connections and tightened everything. Told me to let them know if it occurs again. Then in January is starts happening again with 7,600 miles. I spend another 2 hours at the dealership and they finally get it to reoccur and they say its a bad airbag sensor. So they order the part and its under warranty. I go back a 3rd time when the part comes in. So far the light has stayed off. I'm hopeful. It was just annoying to spend 6+ hours in the shop with a new car that I've owned for 6 months and has less then 8,000 miles on it. The part was covered under warranty.
