So, I take my car to get an airbag recall fixed (this car has a ton of them) and when I go to pick it up, they tell me there is a leak coming from the timing cover - which was not there the last time I did an oil change. Also, the "leak" is right next to the oil filter so I had an inkling the filter was loose and spraying. Well, I cleaned the oil off, tightened the filter and drove it for a week and checked again. Nothing.

Well, being my car is a recall magnet, I took it back to the dealer to have it fixed and they tell me it has a leak again from the timing cover. They told me it would be over 2k to fix and I declined the service, because honestly my car was never getting low on oil between changes so it has not been severe enough to get it fixed. It drives fine but if this "leak" persists and actually starts losing a quart or two between changes, I'll probably get it fixed. It is really annoying though cause I follow the severe duty maintenance schedule to the letter and it is still having this issue.
