Outback 2.5L

  • Manual transmission
  • 40,000 miles

Engine would make an annoying throbbing sound at 60 mph & higher. Mechanic said it was because of a 'piston slap' & the short block had to be replaced. Covered under the 5 year/60k powertrain warranty.
