problem #2

Feb 112007

(reported on)

Outback Limited 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 117,000 miles

The colder it is, the louder the noise and the longer it lasts. Dealer says it is normal. Time will tell.

problem #1

Aug 182005

(reported on)

Outback

  • 6,000 miles

It's made the noise from day two, especially in cold weather. Lasts for several minutes. Sounds like tappets when lubrication is insufficient. Dealer examined, claims nothing wrong, just " a harmless characteristic of the car".
