Outback Limited 3.6r

  • CVT transmission
  • 3,107 miles

Transmission is far from a smooth performer in this vehicle. Last service I had the Subaru Dealer check it out and the comment made "this is how they all are".

So what do I find annoying? When the vehicle is cold the transmission is herky jerky, feels like it is slipping and jerking around but apparently not according to the dealer. When traveling up hill under load when warm and at low speeds under 30kmhr the transmission again is a bit jerky with the feeling of slipping. The service adviser's advice was "step on it a bit more".. I guess I should take my next speeding ticket and see if he will pay for it!! :)

Overall I believe Subaru could do a bit more work on making the CVT/Engine combo more like what in the advertising brochure says.
