Dec 242021

Outback XT Limited 2.4L

  • CVT transmission
  • 15,101 miles

Car engine fan and dashboard lights stayed on and radio kept playing when I put my foot on the brake and pressed the ignition button to turn off the car. It stayed on when I opened the car door. I tried holding ignition button in while pressing the brake for 5 seconds several times and that did not work. I tried starting the car the normal way with my foot on the brake and pressing the ignition button and nothing happened. After playing around with it for about 5-10 minutes and calling roadside assistance for ideas I finally pressed the ignition button without holding my foot on the brake and everything shut down. Then I was able to start the car. This happened 24 Dec 2021 around 2 PM.
