ONGOING ATTEMPTS to DIAGNOSE/REPAIR FRONT END PROBLEMS on this damn car!! I want to love the car.. but I feel like I hate it right now. Every single time we replace/repair something, another issue arises within weeks/months - literally.

Three weeks ago both FRONT WHEEL HUB BEARINGS REPLACED, car ran better than EVER! for three weeks. All the very SUDDENLY, car began MAKING a KNOCKING SOUND - only WHEN IN MOTION. The sound "speeds up", gets LOUDER with increased ACCELERATION. Initially, suspected a very low Or "going flat" tire whilst driving about 50 mph and pulled off road to check tires; tires low all around, but no flats or damage. Noise continued throughout driving time. Husband came home and drove car to see about my "noise complaint", he too thought "tire problem". He removed wheels and checked out whatever men "check out" when doing such things :) he found nothing unusual. He went and filled the tires with air to appropriate levels, which made car handle/feel much better (of course!), but has NO effect on the DISTURBING NOISES. After driving car yesterday, husband decided we aren't driving the auto anymore until repair work is complete.

Are one/both replacement bearings bad part(s)? Is the noise coming from something else altogether?? WHO THE HELL KNOWS!? We do not.

Feels/sounds like a wheel/tire issue, there is some tension/resistance detected when driving, occasional death wobble at high speeds (steering wheel shakes, car gets jumpy, feels unstable), UNBEARABLY LOUD noise that increases as speed increases - feels and sounds like whole thing is about to just fall to pieces at 65mph.

Tired of putting money into car with NO lasting success following repairs. This 02' Aerio has got issues yO! BEFORE hub bearing replacement passenger side would get extremely hot, caused much resistance to the point of nearly seizing up in place, would not "go". After turning car off and on this issue would resolve (magically?); it was an intermittent symptom and we replaced a crap-ton before getting to the hub bearings. Had hoped this would be a final fix so we could get onto to the lesser important things!

Like the DRIVER/PASSENGER DOORS that WON'T OPEN from OUTSIDE, only from inside; also an intermittent problem, that has now become a pain in the ass problem. RADIO/STEREO system DOESN'T WORK MOSTLY, has a short or something - only works when there is moisture in the air (weird). The paint needs redone, or the least a car polish 3x over. CHEAP PLASTIC WORTHLESS BUMPER is busted and cracked. BACK RIGHT SIDE BLINKER OUT.

We've already spent MONEY REPAIRING THIS CAR, hoping to have an economical sporty little ride that will last! for convenience, single person transport, teenage daughter etc etc... UNFORTUNATELY, WE CAN'T EVEN TO SEEM TO GET the AERIO IN SAFE OPERATING CONDITION.
